I think the best approach would be to look in the documentation: viewforum.php?f=135

I dont think a "Getting started" paper is yet produced, but I know that it has been requested, and will show up at some point.

For now I'll suggest that you use the documentation but also this forum, describing what you are trying to achieve, and im sure you'll gain progress very fast. Old schooler or not ;=)

Bams is right, there is no written documentation apart from those he referred to - however I do plan to have a complete document written at some point later, unfortunately I have not been able to spent the time yet to complete such a document.

I am though currently working on a "Getting started" video, which will show new users how to get started, as well as show some of the most commonly used features.

I expect to be done with this video within this week. As BE version 2.4 is going to be released later tonight - I have been delaying the video until 2.4 was done - to ensure its up to date when its created.

Why not set up a Wiki this way us users can add the info and ppl can update it. This way it wont be one person doing it and everyone can pitch in that way.

For starters, would it be sufficient if all documentation pages was unlocked in: viewforum.php?f=135

That way everyone can comment on each individual function?

And if needed I can add additional categories apart from just the basic "Instruction" / "Criteria" categories.

When I first started using BE, I thought that would be a good idea...but I've changed my opinion about that now. We have a lot of posts in which people ask a specific question like how to use a variable, then they add thier next problem like using color, then functions, etc. If each instruction/criteria was "hijacked" like that, it would be a big mess for someone only looking for posts on that one instruction/criteria...or a lot of work for us moderating; moving posts to other locations. Usually people who ask questions about instructions/criteria don't go there first anyway, so it may not help.

In my opinion, a wiki or manual would be better options. I started working on a manual, but got slowed down with the pictures (attachments) on the documentation pages and haven't really devoted more time to it. I do have plans for some tutorials though, when I get back home I'll start back on them; plus a super-secret surprise!

I think you are right - well I will give it some thought!

I do have a bunch of new videos planned, not targeted at specific tasks, but rather on how to use the most common functions, including some "Getting started" video tutorials.

The thing is though... It takes time to do them, and I am already quite busy with the development of BE itself which is currently my main priority.
I am working on a solution to my lack of resources though, hoping to soon be able to lower my "time to market" not just for BE features, but also documentation, videos etc.

Maybe someone can make a tutorial script that walks you around the program and maybe has you do a few commands. That would be use full this way users can get it explained to them and put it in uses. Now i have no idea how to go about this but someone might.

I have started working on a sorta "Tutorial game" which will teach the basic commands and help new users getting started, similar to the one cheat engine has (which I think is very well made).

Time and resources is my only limitation, but eventually it will be done :)
