I started one a long time ago (that Gigus helped me with), but never finished it. It's on my home computer and I'm still away right now (for another 1.5 weeks). I also wrote a macro that took a screen capture (in a certain location) using Camtasia Studio, then had BE run OCR from Acrobat Pro and save to a text file, then had BE read the results back into the macro. I started to try and redo the macro with free software programs, but haven't finished it.

Anyway, that might at least give you some ideas if you want to try making one on your own. It will probably take me a long time before I have the time to get back to them since I'm still away from home and my work is piling up the longer I'm away.

This one would probably be the coolest thing on earth. I was in big need of an OCR for one game to read out numbers and react on these. I ended in saving all combinations of numbers as a pixel pattern on specified positions ... not the best/right way i guess. But worked ^^

I have OCR in the plans down the road, not as a plugin, but as a normal feature within BE. Its not something I expect to have done in time for the release of 2.6 though.

OCR is definitely a killer feature, and I cant wait for it to be introduced in BE, it does have a fairly high priority.

If someone in the meantime decides to implement it as a Plugin, that would be pretty cool too! perhaps the plugin could even make its way into BE as a standard feature :)

Okay so its on hold but i noticed sy hasnt been on awhile and he/she was the only developer.
So :cry: no ocr for awhile till gigus implements it.

If I have time i'll look in to making it into a plugin. I wasn't gonna bother with it because I wasn't sure how far along you were with putting it into BE 2.6 But it seems as though there is still some time to work on it.

What is the OCR plug in? I'm still learning about BE.

P.S: Someone knows if Gigus has some plans to implement a compile feature on a future version? It would be nice if we can do it, so we can pick up our .EXEs and upload or just taking it to a friend's house or another computer.
