send and recieve txts or E-mails in macros!
tested using Gmail. should also work with other ssl imap/smtp providers

to send a message you need:
  • an E-mail account that allows smtp; you may need to enable smtp in your account options
  • your E-mail smtp server and port (Gmail's provided in plugin tooltips)
  • your E-mail username and password (recommend you use seperate E-mail account/password to be safe!!!)
  • know the cell's carrier (Verizon, AT&T, etc)

to put a reply back into macro you need:
  • an E-mail account that allows imap; you may need to enable imap in your account options
  • your E-mail imap server (Gmail's provided in plugin tooltips)
      notes regarding receiving
    • waiting for messages marks everything in your inbox as read
    • if your inbox is full the first run may take awhile
    • if a picture is sent phone will get the msg slower - bad if you're trying to chat!

Not currently at home but I was wondering if this could possibly be used for games to send an e-mail or text notification upon receiving a whisper from someone. If not I would be interested in trying to get that to work.

Ocr plugin to read the whisper + this plugin to send the message so yes you can

if you don't have the pointers to get whispers from memory, this is how I would do it:
  1. if Color.Near coordinate is Use this to detect when there is whisper chat
  2. Plugins.OCR_Plugin use this on the chat box with color filter set to the color of whisper chat as Thedragonfiend suggests
  3. make sure the variable's not empty (false positive in step 1 will cause the variable to be blank)
  4. ensure another msg is not sent until the variable has changed
  5. Plugins.txtmsg_Plugin use this with the variable of the OCR's output for message
  6. If you want to chat back, set up this plugin to wait for a response, then use macro to put it in the appropriate chat channel

here are some more elaborate things to think about:
  • automatic chat responses when you don't reply in time, for instance if the chat contains, "Hi" you can respond with "Hi"
  • if there's no reply you can have the macro say, "brb" and pause for 2 minutes, then resend the txt and wait until there's a reply to start botting again, if not logoff
  • send a "gtg phone" whisper then wait for a command from you, like txt 1 and it will continue botting, txt 2 it will logoff, any other reply will be reply whisper
  • logoff & send a screenshot to yourself with a 1-hour wait-for-reply. if you give a certain response it could login and resume botting
  • any time you use automatic chatting make sure you use timers/counters to keep from chatting too often, repeating the same thing, or responding when you say you're afk!!!
  • after you set it up for whispers you may want to copy and adjust for general chat (& gm chat if it's a different color), changing the colors and what channel your reply will go in
  • the macro will be busy while it waits for your reply, so use a seperate macro if you want to have it do anything while it's waiting

let us know how it comes out - others will probably try the same :)

I'm trying your plugin right now, sending a message with it isn't a problem it works fine, but how i'm supposed to make it read the response ?

I have something like this right now:

how weird, i see what you mean. it shows stop when you do

found it.
looks like there's a newline char after the text, use
Code:
Variable.Trim white spaces("stop")
(documentation here)
until i update the plugins in the future.

you may also want to use
Code:
Variable.To lower case("stop")
if your phone likes to capitalize like mine does.
make sure it can't get caught in a texting loop, because it is very capable of running up your phone bill :P
