Now that I got your attention, hear this out.

Before I thought about brainstorming for the guides, something else struck me. I knew for a while that you have a Facebook page.

You ever thought about creating s a Wiki page for Blue Eye Macro with all the functions set up on a sleek design of our robot mascot friend? I can understand you are busy but at least with the Wiki page, you won't have to do that alone and everyone on the forums can help.

Check out wikispaces here.

Just my two cents here.

It was discussed before (briefly), here's the thread: viewtopic.php?f=122&t=1257&hilit=wiki. If you want a little background. It's a good idea...if you have the time and people to moderate it.

I do like the idea, but I just dont want to end up with a empty wiki, I know there are many helpful users around, yourself included.

But still, doing a wiki of all BE features is a pretty big task.

I do plan on extending the current documentation pages to explain each feature in more details. Do you think it would it be nicer to have a wiki, compared to an updated documentation-section here on the forum?

I can say making a wiki would be visual and easy on the eyes for new users. I wouldn't recommend it being our next step quite yet. I'm just putting the idea out there. I'm glad Sy (I wonder if you like the nickname, heh heh) pulled up the link earlier and have more of a grasp that the idea was thought out before, and so I can make an assessment.

If we do go through with the Wiki idea sooner or later, we need to discuss standards of what should a BEM page contain. Make it so that people that signed up on the forums are able to edit the Wiki as well as having the same name from the forums to the Wiki to identify each other. (We can't let those guest mess around and spam now, haha!)

Basic Template Example:
Main Page will have our BEM logo somewhere on the top. The latest version of Blue Eye Macro will be shown along with a download link.
Below that will be in order:

  • Tutorials
  • (Written) Guides
    • Sub-header - A select list of general/specific guides.
  • Blue Eye Documentation
    • Sub-header [Instructions] - Lists them out as "Clipboard, Color, File, Function, ...., Variable, Windows, Plugins"
  • Blue Eye Tutorial Videos will be compiled into a playlist and be pasted there.

The main problem I foresee here is that we are both busy with our own projects. We need to clear them out first. From there, it'll be all discussion.

Overall a great idea, but the timing can't be worse off personally. I also encourage all the users to discuss on this but my verdict is: Wiki will be on hold. However that is not to say that people can still work on the way to format and discuss on the Wiki, it won't actually be implemented for a while. In addition, I want to wait for Gigus to finish up on revamping the documentation or further input before going on with this idea.
