Post subject:  Forum upgrade - Expected downtime 2012-02-02 - Updated
Hey guys,

I will be closing down the forum for maintenance on 2012-02-02.

During this downtime I will:
  • Upgrade to the latest version of PHPBB.
  • Change the default style of the forum (old style can still be selected in your forum profile).
  • Add new Anti-bot measures (To lock out some of those nasty spam bots annoying all of us everyday).
  • Restructure parts of the forum / create categories.
  • Add a new "Getting started" section for new users who need a hand getting up to speed with BE.
  • Add the concept of "Medals" to the forum. More info/rules regarding Medals will be posted after the upgrade.
  • Add the Favicon created by Syrifina - (Thank you for the nice design Syrifina).

Expected downtime is less than 2 hours.

Update:
The upgrade has now been completed, downtime was a little more than 2 hours due to some complications when migrating the database to the new version.
