FRAPS is also one of the better option I prefer and Sony Vegas too

I like to use Demo Builder 6 Professional. It does cost a bit (250) but it is cheaper than Adobe's similar program called Captivate. Demo builder is easy to use, can record your voice as it records your screen...
but i wanna try Camtasia, it seems recommended from the post here...

I always used FRAPS to record video, bought it some year ago for about 10 bucks.

If I don't need much editing I just use VirtualDub to compress the file

For in game videos, Fraps is the best. I use Corel Video Studio X4 for editing my recorded vids

Used to use Live movie maker before lolz
