If you know of a great piece of software for screen recording / editing.
Please post below, and ill make sure to keep the list up 2 date.

Best screen recorders:

More free alternatives
  • Cam Studio (Open Source)

Camtasia Studio is way ahead of any other screen recording software i have ever tried, however its quite pricey at around 300 USD.

I use Camtasia Studio, its not for free thats true. But if you download an old version you wont be charge a fee and you will have nearly all feature that the last version does. Great software I do recomed it!

Here is a link to the thread where these programs was recommended/discussed: http://www.blueeye-macro.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=22

I've always just used Fraps for capturing video...I'm not really sure if it can be used for editing, but you can just use windows movie maker and not have to worry about licenses or anything. Free software's always better in my book :P

Fraps have always been the best choice when it comes to recording videos inside DirectX games!

Not for too much longer though :) I might have a little thing to share with you guys in a couple of months - Free too, not 37$ like Fraps.

I use "ZD recorder" it is good for both game and desktop recording. Also can be used for multiple screenshot. Easy to use etc.
