Anyone knows about similar programs like fraps, because they limited it to 30s of recording now.

Why do you want more than 30 fps in the video? Keep in mind you will get insane file sizes, if you record it in e.g. 100 fps... + your CPU/Harddrive will be struggling to keep up with the encoding / storing.

A new program is coming out soon, similar to Fraps, but its free (vs 37$ Fraps costs) - and especially the overlay feature is way better than fraps... showing FPS, min/max/avg fps + other performance counters such as cpu/memory/gpu.

No, he means the trial or free version only lets you record 30 seconds of video and then it stops. You have to hit record again to record another 30 seconds after that. It's really annoying if your trying to record something like a fight that last 1.5min cuz you have to stop and hit record and will miss things; it's to get you to buy a regular version.

Well - That will be solved too in the free software coming out soon. There is no release date yet - but expected release is in a couple of months.

So regarding Jing, would you say that it is the best free recording screen? Or what others are there.

Its the best free one I know - It doesn't even come close to quality and performance of Camtasia Studio.

My vote has to go to Camtasia. If you search Youtube enough you could find out how to get it for free.

Lol its been nearly half a year and no awsome video recording software what gives... Also peeplover two things.

And now a third thing in general does camtasia have directx capture support like fraps?

It doesn't, but it can still capture it, just not as good as Fraps.
